Siege. Seeing through the moon’s shadow
In my beloved Tuscan landscape, I see the existence of time.
In the castle looking over the lands, a Maserati takes on the silence beyond time and space…
I see a shadow and become conscious of the light . (y.n.)
The Photo Exhibition that is held at the Corridor Gallery 34 at Park Hotel Tokyo has been organized by Carlo Lomaglio, president of the Japan-Italy Cultural Association “Motonokai”.
It expresses the confrontation between old castles in Italy and Maserati precious vintage cars through the eyes of the Japanese photographer Yoshie Nishikawa, who has been living in Milan, Italy, for more than 20 years.
The title of this exhibition:“Macchine da assedio – Koujo Tsukino Kage Miyu –” reminds us of an old era, her works recall of the beauty of unique old castles in Italy that are about to be forgotten and also the long valuable history of Maserati.
After this exhibition, next year the same exhibition is scheduled to be held, at first at the Resort Cultural Center “Monteverdi”in the village of Castiglioncello del Trinoro in Tuscany, Italy, and then in various locations of major cities in Europe such as the Motor World Museum in Cologne, Germany.
A project to take photographs of vintage cars in front of Japanese castles from now on is also planned, thanks to the collaboration of the Maserati Club of Japan.
Italy and Japan: despite the distance between these two countries, that are far apart, through this photo exhibition we hope that we will find “the analogy between Italy and Japan” that has not been sufficiently highlighted till now.
