Kenji Fujii “Nothingness” Exhibition

Corridor Gallery 34

At the end of August in 2018, I had a strange dream while in Vancouver.

In the dream, an old man was painting on the living room floor, and I was looking at his back from kitchen. I was curious about who he is and what kind of image he is making, and so I approached him. It surprised me that he was painting the image of what I had in my mind vaguely, with a unique and unexpected way. It was a short time, but he taught me his special painting techniques.

I do not remember his face.

After waking up, I tried to see if the painting technique is applicable in real life, and it really turned into a painting in my dream.

I wonder if this painting was painted by old man or myself.
