Hamarikyu Gardens lies between the towers of Shiodome and Tokyo Bay. A former feudal lord's garden from the Edo period, it is designated a Special Place of Scenic Beauty and Special Historic Site. Its tidal pond draws seawater from the bay, and the grounds feature seasonal flower fields and a 300-year-old pine. Walk through the very landscape you have been looking down on from the hotel. At Nakajima-no-ochaya, the teahouse on the pond, take a break with matcha and a traditional Japanese sweet. It is an ideal distance for a stroll before breakfast or a stop after check-out.
