[Open Studio Event] Artist in Hotel

On Friday, September 12, 2025, an open studio event was held in Artist Room 3420 on the 34th floor of Park Hotel Tokyo as part of the “Artist in Hotel” project. This was a rare opportunity for visitors to freely observe artist Nozomi Tanaka as she painted directly onto the room’s walls, treating them as her canvas.

The event began at 10:00 a.m. In Part 1 (10:00–12:00), visitors enjoyed a serene atmosphere as morning sunlight filtered into the room, watching Tanaka gracefully paint.
In Part 2 (15:00–20:00), a smaller group of art enthusiasts visited and spent time engaging with the creative process as it unfolded.

Artist in Hotel

Since 2012, Park Hotel Tokyo has been running the “Artist in Hotel” project.
In it, artists stay at the hotel and work on a project to renovate the original guest rooms into “artist rooms”.
In these “artist rooms”, in which paintings are painted directly onto the walls and keyframes and art pieces are on display, guests can enjoy the world feelings of the artists to their hearts’ content.

Connecting the World Through Art

This open studio event offered a valuable opportunity for artists and guests to connect and share in the moment a work of art is born.

This initiative will continue as a series. With a large number of international guests, Park Hotel Tokyo holds the potential to connect Japanese artists with the world.

We believe that a hotel can serve as a platform for expanding an artist’s practice. A single encounter with a piece of art can travel the world along with a guest’s memory—and supporting such a journey is a unique privilege of the hotel setting.

Park Hotel Tokyo will continue to offer guests a special experience of living with art—like staying in a museum.
