Until Monday, February 23, 2026, “On the Way in Winter Exhibition” is on view free of charge at the 25F Atrium.
This time, we are pleased to share an interview with NEUNOA, one of the five participating artists.
A. The core message I hope to convey is the importance of reconsidering the essence of people and things, without being led by appearances or labels. Attributes such as age, gender, nationality, and race are meant to represent diversity, yet they can also become sources of bias and preconceived judgment.
In today’s information-saturated world, we often reach conclusions too quickly, believing we understand someone before truly engaging with their inner world.
By boldly covering the recognizable features of well-known figures with thick layers of paint, my work creates a visual fluctuation – where images appear and disappear. This momentary pause in perception invites viewers to look beyond surface-level identities and reflect on deeper, intrinsic values.

A. I see hotels as places where time exists “in between” – between movement and rest. They are extensions of daily life, yet also spaces where the mind can loosen and wander more freely.
Within this intersection, I hope my work functions not as decoration, but as a quiet point of connection – linking with each viewer’s memories and emotions, gently encouraging introspection. When a traveler’s gaze happens to rest on my work, its abstraction may open the imagination, leading naturally to personal memories and cherished values. If the work can leave a subtle sense of space and reflection as part of one’s stay, I would be truly happy.

A. The work I would particularly like viewers to focus on is “Seven Goddesses,” a large-scale piece spanning approximately seven meters, displayed on the atrium’s main wall.
This work reinterprets seven goddesses from Greek mythology as a “modern myth,” featuring Jeanne Moreau, Brigitte Bardot, Grace Kelly, Marilyn Monroe, Audrey Hepburn, Jane Birkin, and Elizabeth Taylor as contemporary goddesses.
The monochrome palette represents the overwhelming flow of information in modern society, while gold symbolizes their mythic, ever-radiant presence in media. By obscuring their appearances, I aim to shift attention toward the inner spirit and influence that allowed them to shape their eras. I hope visitors will experience the work by moving between its distant overall composition and the physical presence of paint up close – an encounter made possible by the scale of the atrium space.
