As the 17th ART colours exhibition for enjoying Japan’s four seasons in an artistic context, we are presenting AYAKASHI – Mysterious Aquarium.
Once upon a time, more than 400 years ago, “Shiodome” was known as a dam to stop the ebb and flow of the tide from reaching the outer moat of Edo Castle. In order to survive, trapped creatures that could no longer return to the sea transformed and evolved into AYAKASHI (mystical creatures), and now, 400 years on, have been captured as “unidentified creatures” beyond time and space.
In summer 2016, the Atrium on the 25F of the Park Hotel Tokyo will be transformed into an aquarium full of mysterious creatures. Strange creatures swimming at the entrance and on the 30m high wall, unfamiliar colored objects on LED lighted tables, or mysterious ART beings here and there on marble walls and at restaurant entrances….
It’s a different space where you can forget the intense midsummer heat. Slip into the mystic AYAKASHI – Mysterious Aquarium, enjoy the special menus and cocktails prepared in collaboration with ART in the lounge, and enjoy a feeling of swimming for a moment.
