Hakutaku is a mythical beast with nine eyes and is said to have the ability to speak human language. It symbolizes multifaceted perspectives and thoughts and is an observer of the human world in my work.
Since ancient times, people believed that Hakutaku ward off evils. In the Edo period (1603-1868), pictures of Hakutaku were worn as travel talismans or placed under the pillow to ward off illness.
Therefore I chose Hakutaku as the theme of this Artist Room.
I have hidden the nine eyes of Hakutaku in various places in this Artist Room so that you can not only appreciate my works but also experience them during your stay. Please look for them during your stay.
