Artist's Message

In 2022, I completed reading Osamu Tezuka’s masterpiece, the manga “Phoenix,” and I was deeply impressed by it. I was in awe of the indescribably grand developments and the mind-boggling storytelling and structure created by Tezuka. Given that this work is rooted in Japanese culture and history, I felt it was perfectly suited to the theme of “Beauty of Japan” at Park Hotel Tokyo, which is why I chose the subject of Phoenix. While paying homage to the work “Phonenix,” I have engraved here the largest Phoenix to date, while cherishing my own unique worldview.
